A 17th-century mathematician, inventor, philosopher and most importantly; physicist, Sir Isaac Newton is an icon of utter intelligence. His discoveries and theories have explained many intricacies that exist in the universe. However, they do not just limit to the laws of motion and the theory of gravity.

It is because of Newton’s introduction of Calculus, that the world can solve puzzling mathematical problems today. The discovery of the color spectrum was a result of his keen interest in studying white light. A long time after Newton’s death, his occult studies were put onto paper, serving as pillars of modern day chemistry and stoichiometry. Succeeding former brilliant scientists, like Galileo and Kepler, his work has proven to be revolutionary in the field of science and mathematics.

All Newton really wanted was answers to all of his questions. ‘Why did the apple fall downwards?’ ‘Where’s the cat?’ ‘Why does that ball only move when I push it?’ ‘Why does light split into different colors when it exits that prism?’ Newton wanted to understand the world in order to satisfy his curiosity. This pursuit has won him a significant position in the history of science. Here are some of his quotes that will inspire you to look for answers:

1. “No great discovery was ever made without a bold guess.”
