The worst part about growing older is regret for all the things you didn’t do.
Here’s a list of the 36 things you don’t want to regret when you’re old!
1- Not Travelling
Travelling is one of those dreams we keep putting off. Next year we say; when we have more time, when we have more money. Except for tomorrow never comes. And when it does it comes with old age and decreased reflexes. Or a family of three with three times the expenses. So travel today; go everywhere you want to! You don’t want to regret not traveling when you’re old.
2- Not learning a language
Almost everyone has ‘learn a new language’ on their bucket list. In fact, in a lot of places, 3 years of foreign language education are compulsory at a high school or college level. Yet few people end up committing the time and effort needed to learn a language. So start today! It’ll be worth it.
3- Bad Relationships
Everyone who gets out of a bad relationship always wishes they’d had the courage to do it sooner. If things aren’t working out, leave! Life is too short to waste time on a bad relationship.
4- Not going to a concert
If you have the opportunity to see your favorite musicians perform don’t put it off. You never know when they’ll decide to retire or stop touring and you’ll regret it if you don’t go.
5- Fear of trying new things
Don’t be afraid to try something new. Looking back you only regret the things you didn’t do.
6- Not exercising
What your body can bear at 20 will come back to hit you at 40. Don’t lounge away the peak of your physical fitness. Go for a walk. You’ll be thankful for it in a decade or two.
7- Being confined by societal expectations
Nothing is as sad as someone not pursuing a dream because society told them they couldn’t. Follow your dreams!
8- Being confined by gender roles
Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can not do!
9- Not quitting a bad job
You’ll always have bills. But if you don’t quit that bad job and find something worthwhile to do with your life today then you never will.
10- Not studying in school
School is some of the best times of your life though it may not seem so at the time. It’s also pretty crucial in setting you up for life. So put in the work and make some effort.
