The first public filing shows that an average employee at Facebook makes almost an astonishing $240,000. Sounds huge, right? Makes you think most big tech companies function the same way, but that’s not true. The median salary at Amazon is only $28,446 while the job can be as taxing, if not more – but there’s a reason for that, as discussed below.

The 240,000 figure is what it takes to keep the talented staff at Facebook, making Facebook’s median compensation figure the highest in the list. Mark Zuckerberg’s base salary is only $1 but he was compensated almost $9 million for the expenses of private planes and security.
