Chuando Tan is a renowned celebrity all over the world. And while he is a photographer by profession it is not his talent with a camera that has attracted the world’s attention. It isn’t the career he once had as a Singaporean male model. Or even his brief stint in the world of pop music.

In fact, the reason he is so famous is his age. Because even though Tan’s actual age is 51 if you met him on the street you’d think he was 20 years old. His youthful looks have the world befuddled. How does he do it?

Here are 5 things Chuando Tan does every day that have turned him into real life, Dorian Gray.

1. His nutritious balanced diet

The photographer keeps himself on a strict diet. Everyone knows how important eating nutritious balanced meals is. We learn about the food chart – carbohydrates and proteins – as children in school. And numerous doctors, health professionals, blogs, food companies and even health food commercials remind us about it on a daily basis. Yet the majority of us continue eating junk food and going to fast food restaurants. But not Chuando Tan; the man is very careful about what he puts in his body.

Breakfast

He starts his day by eating 6 boiled eggs. And he removes the yolks from 4 of them to avoid excess intake of cholesterol. Drinking a full glass of fresh milk is also part of his breakfast routine. Additionally, he pairs his eggs with fruit like avocado or berries to get a good dose of vitamins and antioxidants. These nutrients are essential in keeping his skin looking fresh and youthful.

Lunch

In addition to keeping track of what foods he consumes Tan also takes note to prepare them in a healthy way. For lunch, he eats boiled rice, steamed vegetables, grilled chicken and fish soup. Also ensuring that the salt and oil quantities are kept at a minimum.

Dinner

The former model’s dinner generally involves a light salad packed with healthy greens.

Additional Advice

Tan also tends to avoid all caffeine drinks – both tea and coffee. But makes it a point to stay hydrated by drinking a lot of water. Additionally, he doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol. However, he is known to occasionally splurge on ice cream.

2. Regular Exercise

Chuando Tan’s daily routine involves 90 minutes of hardcore exercise. And this isn’t just an hour and a half on a treadmill. The photographer spends an hour everyday swimming. And supplements that with half an hour of strength training almost 4 days a week. He follows that with his cardio exercises.

3. Selective Tasks

When people spend their days struggling with high-stress jobs that they don’t particularly like it affects their health. But Tan doesn’t believe in doing that. His motto for life has always been to search for jobs he likes where he enjoys himself. This is the reason for his multiple career changes from model to a singer to a photographer. Getting up every day excited at the prospect of meeting people, scheduling photo shoots and taking pictures is part of what keeps Tan young and energetic.

4. No skincare products

Many people think Chuando Tan’s youthful looks are the result of plastic surgery. But that is untrue. In fact, he only ever got Botox done once after receiving a gift voucher and disliked it so much that he has refused to go to a cosmetologist since. His simple skin care routine involves only face wash and moisturizer.

5. Sleep

Early to bed and early to rise has always been Tan’s philosophy. He sleeps at 11 pm or earlier every day and gets a good 8-9 hours of sleep. Additionally he makes it a point to not eat anything after 6 pm because he believes it affects the body’s ability to get a good rest.

And so even though he’s actually 50 years old Chuando Tan doesn’t look a day over 20.
