One Saudi family bid its long-lasting employee in fashion. The Indian worker who worked for 35 years for the family finally said goodbye to them and left for his home in India.

According to media reports, Mido Sheerian spent 35 years working for them as a farmer and as a waiter, serving coffee at the family’s highway rest house for motorists passing by the remote mountainous area between Hail and Al-Jouf, in the north of the country.

One family member is seen embracing the Indian worker Mido in the party.

The Awaad Khudair Al Shemmari family, belonging to city Hail, can be seen lining up to bid goodbye to Meedo Babu.

“Awaad Khudair Al Shemmari’s family as they bid farewell to Meedu Babu, a domestic worker who had worked with them for over 35 years, in a  party during which each family member offered him gifts. This is a true representation of Islam.”

One of the family members tweeted these lines when he released the pictures from the party.
Mido came to Saudi Arabia way back in the early 80s and will finally go back to his family in India.

A media report states that the family also gifted him a large sum of money, including the pension he had accrued in over three decades of his service. Such grand farewell was simply heartwarming, to say the least.

Saudis are not exactly known for their gratitude towards their workers. In fact, the working conditions in the oil-rich country are quite distressing. Because of the infamous ‘Kafala system’ and also because the government doesn’t give nationality to foreigners.

The kafala system is a system used to monitor migrant laborers, working primarily in the construction and domestic sectors, in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries like Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE . So it is no surprise that in a place like that such kind gesture is making waves on social media and all other kinds of media. But it must be noted that such gestures are now happening for some years now.

Recently another Filipino worker was also given a grand farewell by another Saudi family. It is so good to see people appreciating the worker class and being the kind human beings.

The news was very well received in Mido’s homeland as well as all over the world and people shower their blessings upon the family. One of the Saudi residents wrote:
” Family in Hail, depositing a worker with money, gifts and appreciation. After serving 35 years, a beautiful party reflects human spirit of Saudi society. ”

And several people tweeted with the messages like: “May God bless such families” and “JazakAllah khair”. So it is safe to say that everyone loved the gesture. Such positive news must be spread across the globe and we can only hope that such gestures become a norm everywhere.
