Of course, you can make all the money that you want on Earth but if you want to become the world’s first trillionaire, then you will have to do what everyone cannot. By that, we are talking about venturing into space for mining asteroids.
At first, they might look like ordinary rocks in space but they are much more than what you know about them. Each of these asteroids in space belongs to their specific class which are C, S and M. While Class C asteroids possess a lot of natural resources like water, hydrogen and phosphorus (which will soon be used to facilitate human life on other planets), Class M and S are the real deal.
Both of these asteroids have all sorts of precious metals including gold, silver, platinum, nickel and even iron. They are present in so much abundance that even mining a kilometer of an asteroid can beat the entire production of such metals on Earth by three times.
According to Nasa, a single asteroid holds resources worth 700 Quintillion dollars and even mining platinum alone would bring 3 Trillion dollars for you.
To make it possible, one can simply send a rocket into space, mine the asteroid there and come back. But technically, it’s a lot more expensive along with consuming a lot of time and resources. So, to overcome the challenge, scientists have an interesting way to go forward with the trillion dollar project and that is to bring an asteroid into the orbit of Earth.
It might seem impossible at the moment, but that would create the opportunity for almost any billionaire to legally send their rocket into space for mining the asteroid and selling the resources back on Earth. In fact, Luxembourg, a small country in Europe, has already passed the legislation based on bringing resources to Earth from space.
An American space company, Planetary Resources has already taken the lead to make the dream of trillions become possible. They are eyeing on providing fuel in space as it is the most important aspect of space traveling and mining the asteroids. With more fuel, space ships would be able to move to places or planets, which have not been discovered yet. It will also facilitate space exploration on a bigger level.
Soon you would see gas stations up in space because these asteroids contain all the resources that one needs to have to produce fuel and if companies come up with the right means to use them, it would just be a matter of time. Planetary Resources is also aiming to mine water from these asteroids in order to send it to all the spaceships when required.
Till the time it all becomes possible for anyone of you to mine asteroids, you should have the calculations ready on your hand as making one trillion dollars a year would be equal to $83,333,333,333 billion or $2,739,726,027 Billion per day. Your each second would also be worth thousands of dollars.
The rage of space traveling is indeed what we all should look up to just like Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. While together with the help of Blue Origin, they have built reusable space ships for more cost-efficient traveling, they are now also looking forward to mine resources from space, especially the Class C asteroids.
As of now, Nasa has planned to invest $1 Billion in extracting a small piece of an asteroid that would be 60-2000 grams in size just to observe the technical challenges that miners would have to go through.
